I am primarily of German and Filipino descent. I was born in Manila, grew up in Saudi Arabia, spent several years in Australia before returning to my roots in 2010.
i'm telling you what, that teacher of yours has flipped his lid. We get word limits over here...any idiot can ramble...it takes skill to keep it within a word limit of 500 to 750 words...
heh heh...truth to tell I was disappointed when it turned out that the strawberry was not a nut...but I am happy that it's not a berry either...bwahahahahahaha...but I shall now annoy you with the peanut is not a nut fact...heh heh
btw, this is some personal debate between meow I'm refering to...
now, fun food facts...carrots have been officially proven to improve your site...that and whether you eat carrots or not you'll always be able to find some trace of carrot in your vomit...random and gross...but heck an interesting fact, neh?
by the way mr.zoro, the reason why my eyesight hasn't reached the far end of vision, as in your case, is that I've, in contrast to yourself, been eating carrots instead of claiming to be 'eating' carrots...
nice try buddy. A) you DON'T eat carrots !?! so you can't entirely blame your 'genes' B) we're related you idiot! so how DIFFERENT are your genes from mine?? C) You don't have a healthy life style anyway.
and WHAT??? biology AP exam??? this is so ridiculous! Why would I use such an argument if I could use a much better one! sheesh...
well it works if you've actually been eating carrots for the past what 6 years, so just starting to eat carrots this year won't do it buddy! OOOOOHHHHHHH. No need to reply to this, just walk away with some dignity and accept your defeat.
this is a great show...popcorn aloha? *passes a bowl of popcorn to aloha_may*
And btw, zoro...do you speak English with more of a British or more of an American accent?
If you speak with more of an American accent, then DON'T, I repeat, DON'T say 'mum'
I for one could never tell why the Brits used Mum instead of Mom because to my reasoning, Mom is derived from the word Mother, which is written with an 'o', hence 'Mom'...unless the British say 'Muther'...
oh...looks like everyone's waiting for me to make my turn eh?
Well, let's look at this logically shall we...let's pretend that my eyesight has been steadily declining since the age of 10...and I've been eating carrots only when I felt like it or when I've been forced to, which alludes to the observation that there surely must have been severe draughts were days could pass until I was annoyingly reminded to eat another carrot. Now, I'm 15 years old. My eyesight hasn't stopped decreasing and as a way to halt this process I've been advised to wear hard contacts. Recently, I've, for some reason, started to increase my carrot intake. WOHA...now I can pretend that I've been REGULARLY eating carrots all my life and therefore complain about how they didn't do crap. And then after having gone on this trip for 10 days, that's spelled TEN, I ate TWO whole carrots as soon as I got back; pure evidence of my past carrot-eating habits...
I think not. Give it up pal, you've been caught in the net...best thing for you is to stop moving.
Oh ouch, retalliation right into the mid-section, will zoro from the blue corner respond? So far, it seems that the challenger afro_man from the red corner has the upper hand and with the bell about to go it seems like the judges will rule in the challenger's favour...
uuuuhhhrgggtth..LOOK what I've been trying to say all this time is that had you started regularly eating carrots EARLIER, sure you're eyesight would still have decreased (because it's "in ur genes"), BUT it might have decreased LESS over a LONGER period of TIME you freakin stubborn WALL. GET IT??? Just because it's in your genes for you're eyes to get worse doesn't mean taking preventive measures is completely useless!! The least they can do is SLOW the process DOWN!! Do I need to say it one more time?? If I'm a person with a weak immune system, does that mean that eating healthy stuff, doing sports regularly...will not give me any benefits at all because it's in my genes??? You never ate carrots regularly. That's the whole point. Sure you'd have one or two carrots on one day but on the next day you'd forget or whatever. OR assuming you did 'regularly' eat carrots one might suggest that ur eyesight could have gotten worse earlier...so either way carrots DO strengthen your eyesight. ADMIT IT. And don't get me started on those "multivitamin juices"!!!
How long did it take you to write this pointless comment? Carrots contain Vitamin A you complete *i*d*i*o*t* Ahhh look you're just hopeless. I'm not gonna waste any more energy on this. This post is called Banana, herb or berry anyways so stop wasting your time and energy to think hard and come up with theories of how doomed your eyes are because of your genes...you're simply a person with no healthy life style at all and that's why your vision decreased the way it did. Mine in contrast to you didn't because I did what you didn't do.
oii...this will be a long break.. so big bro and small bro, gather yourselves, your strength..and when chio's back, then i want to see blood on the dance floor..uhm..i mean in the box ring..XD mwahaha!
no zoro...people sigh because there is a source that causes them to sigh...in my case that's you and it's not the flattering type of sigh either, you are frustrating, exasperating and utterly vexing.
I wanted to attempt to make sushi once, but I didn't because I didn't quite trust myself with raw fish since it needs to be extremely fresh...
Ah yes fugu...I know that it is considered a delicacy but there's just something about eating blowfish that I find...well perhaps a tad too daring. seeing as at least ten people a year die of fugu poisoning in Japan.
I want to try it some day, it's just the thought of eating raw fish that causes me to feel uneasy...that and a nasty forward e-mail about sushi my dear aloha-nesan sent me a while back...
I'll work up the courage some day...hey what about sashimi?
sushi is usually made with raw tuna or well it's commonly made with raw tuna, a deep dark redish colour (and I mean dark, not pinkish orange like salmon)
yeah!!!! finally chio mentioned COOKING!!!!!!!! OLE!!! well, i'm quite good at baking "guglhupf" and banana cake is very easy to bake, omg it's soooo easy that you will laugh like crazy after u put the banana cake out of the oven...bwahahahaha
mhm banana..banana split..oh i'll go and make my special banana split..HAHA!
As a matter of fact, I HATE tang. It tastes disgusting and I cringe whenever they serve it at restaurants...kinda strange that they're still doing business.

There you have it, this may be, perhaps, too sophisticated a subject for the regulars to comprehend...
ok, the banana plant belongs to the herb family (i couldn't believe it either...) but its fruit (the banana) is botanically speaking a berry.
and while i'm at it i might as well say:
the strawberry is not a berry (or a nut)
the peanut is not a nut
the tomato is a fruit
and the cucumber is the watermelon's cousin.
eh...ok...
what the hell? geography and art are totally irrelevant to this particular topic
i'm telling you what, that teacher of yours has flipped his lid. We get word limits over here...any idiot can ramble...it takes skill to keep it within a word limit of 500 to 750 words...
ok tell him to check out my blog and I'll let him know.
anyway, getting back to what this post actually is about...
now, anyone got any fun food facts?
Something not a lot of people are likely to know...
well...I'll come up with something eventually
I tell you this is a highly entertaining piece of dialogoe!
it is? or are you just being sarcastic? ?_?
I'm serious, I was laughing throughout this entire page of comments the first time I read it.
chio i can't believe you put this in! that's all i have to say...it confuses me too much!

heh heh...right...hey, do u know Mousse from Ranma 1/2? I think you'd be able to identify with him very well...
by the way mr.zoro, the reason why my eyesight hasn't reached the far end of vision, as in your case, is that I've, in contrast to yourself, been eating carrots instead of claiming to be 'eating' carrots...

anyhoo, carry on, you were arguing about carrots
...ok, the word 'mum' just annoys me...i don't know why...well, actually I explained my reason before, to me, the word just doesn't make sense.
hey me too!!! ^-^
whenever i read "mum", i always think bout "THE" >mummy<
oh thanx 4 the popcorn, chio!!! ^-^
now, go on with da fight..hehe..XD
*Chio stares affixedly at the two siblings battling it out over an orange root*
I guess the show'll have to continue when mr.carrot-eating-wannabe zoro comes back from his carrot-free trip.
sure thing...hey aloha looks like we have time for a snack break till zoro gets back!
Ooh, strong argument from zoro in the blue corner how will the challenger afro_man from the red corner respond?
..oh hoho..
seems i popped in at the right time..^-^
ok, chio time to take our seats enjoy the show..^-^
oh...looks like everyone's waiting for me to make my turn eh?

Interesting retalliation by zoro...let us see what the challenger does next...

ok, I'll drop the commentator act now, and zoro it is a scientifically proven fact that carrots DO help your eyesight...
You're just being stubborn (very stubborn)
Saying that carrots help your eyesight does not mean that eating them will magically restore your vision to peak condition, get it?
wow...this silence is intriguing.
is that a fact or denial?
oii...this will be a long break..
so big bro and small bro, gather yourselves, your strength..and when chio's back, then i want to see blood on the dance floor..uhm..i mean in the box ring..XD mwahaha!
you not violent?
...
au contraire my dear fellow, there's a bit of that kinda stuff in everyone of us...
..says the hippy foxguy..^-^
hehe
yeeeeeeaahh....riiiiiiight...cough cough.
oooh you be quiet mr. violent...you almost killed me man!!!
...
*sigh*
hehe..lol..XD n_n
no zoro...people sigh because there is a source that causes them to sigh...in my case that's you and it's not the flattering type of sigh either, you are frustrating, exasperating and utterly vexing.
at times.
why thank you.
sure thing, pal
eh..oh oh..
*speaks to herself*
i should eat some dandelions..^-^ hehe..yeah..
*goes out and searches for some flowers*
...dandelions? you turnin' into a bunny rabbit, aloha-nesan?
yay..a bunny..bunny transformation GO!!! ehem..lol, nope..
i watched a cooking show a few days ago and that austrian cook used dandelions..^-^ hehe, he even used the petals for the tomato salad..^-^
yeah, he's great, really entertaining...
speaking of which...anyone ever watch Iron chef?
a pity...it's a great show...see if you can find it on youtube...it's a Japanese cooking show-down you could say...
i know what you mean...you sort of get the peels off of tomatoes the same way...
ookay then...
right back to food...
I've been cooking a little more recently and I must say there's something terribly fascinating about the procedure...
yeah...pizza's great.
aha...
ok, so we've concluded that pizza is 'great' would you like to contribute any further to that statement?
Are you like...okay zoro?
...
anybody ever tried sushi? or fugu for that matter?
u never tried any sushi! that was sea tang and some rice and shrimps...not raw fish!

I'll work up the courage some day...hey what about sashimi?
sashimi...that's raw fish too isn't it? nope didn't taste that either.
so how was the 'sushi' sir zorro? I hope u'r not referring to the tropical fish in the sea resort...
sushi is usually made with raw tuna or well it's commonly made with raw tuna, a deep dark redish colour (and I mean dark, not pinkish orange like salmon)
well, I can't really say much to that, seeing as this is afro_man's debate...
whatever...
what? you give up just like that? bo-ring...
well, if he says he ate some, then perhaps he did.
And neither do I feel the desire nor do I have the time to further investigate this matter.
fair enough...oh well, let us move on to the next food topic!
Has anyone here actually cooked? And I don't mean boiling some water to pour over your instant ramen, I mean actually cooked? or better yet baked ^^
yeah!!!! finally chio mentioned COOKING!!!!!!!! OLE!!!
well, i'm quite good at baking "guglhupf" and banana cake is very easy to bake, omg it's soooo easy that you will laugh like crazy after u put the banana cake out of the oven...bwahahahaha
mhm banana..banana split..oh i'll go and make my special banana split..HAHA!
*sigh* there's some kinda weird banana shortage over here, so banana's are really expensive.
do you taunt me?
uhu..
my mom planted some sweet potatoe a.k.a kamote tops..^-^
ooh! I LOVE sweet potatoe! I went through a phase once ^^ heh heh...one that I am thinking of reentering...
dammit, will someone already comment here?
what? that's not really true...
why is that zoro? Fibre is essential our diet, and I never heard of anyone getting TOO much fibre, in most cases, we aren't getting enough fibre...
ok...
Anyhoo...has anyone got a good topic we can tackle?
fresh orange juice or tang?
...
Oh, fresh all the way!
Go natural! I've been getting into the whole organic stuff now...
Tang is all artificial colour and flavourings with sugar, it CAN'T be good for you...
Seriously, does anyone think a nice fresh and juicy orange to be inferiour to some powder in a packet?
As a matter of fact, I HATE tang. It tastes disgusting and I cringe whenever they serve it at restaurants...kinda strange that they're still doing business.
My point exactly, eat fresh fruit, people!
new topic: regular vs genetically modified vegetables/other nourishments
I generally have to say...I go for normally grown fruit and veg.
...
You know Pomelo?
They're gooooooood!!!!!
